Play Cornhole, Ladder Golf, and other great family games at The Old Mill, on the lawn next to the Pottery House Cafe. Or explore a team when you take on the challenges of our Scavenger Hunt, or search for our cleverly hidden Geocache.

Watch Our Makers at Work

From our miller to our bakers, from potters to candy makers, and more, it’s fascinating to watch our skilled craftspeople at work. Many incorporate traditional Appalachian methods and techniques, and all appreciate your interest in the area’s history and heritage.

Have Fun with Fido

With new pet food and water bowls from Pigeon River Pottery, dog treats made with spent grain from our distillery and dog treats at the Old Mill Creamery, the Dog Days of Summer are dreamy at The Old Mill. Bring your furry family member for a stroll around the Old Mill Square, and keep that tail a-waggin’ with treats for good behavior.

Make a Family Recipe Together

We all cherish the times our parents or grandparents invited us into the kitchen to make something. When you cook as a family, you cook with a purpose, with care, with love. Need ideas? Visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

We may be biased, but we believe it’s the most beautiful of all of America’s National Parks. Plus, it’s one of the few free National Parks in the system. Tennessee, Carolina, and private parties ceded land for the park, which included Newfound Gap Road (US-441). Tennessee stipulated that “no toll or license fee shall ever be imposed…” to travel the road, and a free park was born. Visit nps.gov to learn about all the great things to see and do at our favorite national treasure.
