The Old Mill General Store

The original door to The Old Mill is the one you see today. It’s covered with hundreds of tacks and nail heads, where notices of births, deaths, weddings, and other community events were posted — a daily reminder of The Old Mill’s place in Pigeon Forge history as a hub of communication.

Today, the mill continues its tradition as a working grist mill and shares space with The Old Mill General Store, a favorite shopping destination for a million-plus visitors each year.

Tradition at Work

Watch our millers grind grains into meal using tools and techniques that have endured for centuries. The massive flint granite stones convert grain into about 1,000 pounds of product each day, six days a week. The millers then hand-fill, weigh and tie each bag of stone ground grain.

Purveyors of All Things Good

The Old Mill General Store offers many wonderful ways to take Smoky Mountain goodness home with you. Here you’ll find The Old Mill’s freshly ground yellow and white cornmeal and grits, flours, pancake mixes, and other specialty blends — bagged and hand-tied with a miller’s knot right next door.

Also check out our homemade jams, jellies, dip mixes, and other popular products from our Old Mill Signature line of foods, as well as a distinctive selection of regionally inspired gifts, crafts, and memorabilia to remind you of your visit to a true national treasure.
