Join the heart of our pottery-making process! Pigeon River Pottery is searching for a driven and physically capable team member to play an essential role in our production process. In this hands-on position, you'll help ensure the smooth and consistent creation of our high-quality ceramics. No prior pottery experience is required—we’ll teach you everything you need to know!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Material Handling & Preparation:
Accurately weigh and combine materials to create consistent clay bodies.
Operate pug mills to process clay for optimal working conditions.
Set up and operate presses for efficient clay preparation.
Casting & Molding:
Perform casting and pouring molds with precision and speed.
Operate the extruder to create consistent clay shapes.
Kiln Operations:
Load, unload, and fire kilns according to established procedures.
Re-stack kiln shelves as needed.
General Production Support:
Assist with other production tasks as assigned.
Attend Production Support and Glaze Team meetings as needed.
Equipment Operation:
This role involves frequent heavy lifting (typically 50 lbs.) and operating machinery that demands physical strength.
